Cagayan River, often called as Cagayan de Oro River, is one of the rivers draining the northern central part of the island of Mindanao in the Philippines . The river has its headwaters in the Kalatungan Mountain Range found in the central part of the province of Bukidnon. It traverses the Municipalities of Talakag, Baungon and Libona, picking up tributaries along the way. It finally empties into the Macajalar Bay at Cagayan de Oro City in the Province of Misamis Oriental.
Cagayan River is a very popular site forwhitewater rafting in the Philippines and has been promoted by the Department of Tourism as the main tourist attraction of Cagayan de Oro City.
Camp Philips Bukidnon
Bukidnon is considered to be the food basket in Mindanao and is a home to the finest and sweetest pineapple in the country. It is a major producer of rice, corn and pineapple among others. Not only that, it is also the home of numerous plantations such as Del Monte, Lapanday Diversified Products Corporation and Dole Philippines, which are engaged in pineapple, banana plantation among other tropical fruits.
Camp Phillips is a community situated in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. It is also where the Del Monte Pineapple Plantation is located. It has a vast field of pineapples covering around 9000 hectares of land. A wide area of the place is planted with pineapples that stretch from horizon to horizon.
Divine Mercy Shrine (Misamis Oriental), located in the Divine Mercy Hills, PSB-Ulaliman which is overlooking Macajalar Bay. The shrine has a 50-foot statue of the Divine Mercy Christ, the biggest in Asia. It serves as a pilgrimage site for the Divine Mercy devotees. As a pilgrimage and sacred site, visitors are not allowed to wear shorts and other revealing clothing. Those who do so will be forced to cover themselves with a blue cloth provided by the shrine administrators.
Plaza's and Park's
Gaston Park named after the first Mayor of Cagayan de Oro, Segundo Gaston; located near the Saint Augustine Cathedral and Archbishop’s Palace. This park was the center of town when Pueblo de Cagayan was first erected in 1624. This plaza served as the training ground for the local revolutionaries who were preparing for the Phil-American War in 1900.

Divisoria is a Spanish word which means to divide. Located in downtown area, it is a series of parks dedicated to national and local heroes. Cagayan was constantly affect by fire that burned most of the town. In 1901, local authorities decided to build a "divider" parallel to the town to serve as a fire break. This divider or "divisoria" was later transformed into parks.
